Ferrari tour in the landscapes of Tuscany
Tenuta D'arbia: Crete Senesi and Val D'orcia - 150 km, full day
Departure in the morning from Tenuta d'Arbia. Driving our cars, we travel along a road that offers splendid scenery and leads us to Buonconvento, included in the list of Italy's Most Beautiful Villages. After a quick stop, we get back behind the wheel to arrive in Montalcino, a medieval village rich in art and history nestled in the hills of the Val d'Orcia. This is the birthplace of the world-famous Brunello di Montalcino, one of the most famous wines in the world. Stop for a free visit.
We take the road again to S. Quirico d'Orcia where you will admire one of the most iconic views in Tuscany, with the famous cypress trees of San Quirico arranged in a perfect geometry, and from here continue on to Pienza, the Ideal City desired by Pope Pius II and designed by Rossellino with the guidance of the humanist Leon Battista Alberti. These artists defined the harmonious and typically 15th-century appearance of Pienza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant and free tour of the village.
Back in the driver's seat, we drive through hills dotted with cypress trees and vineyards as far as the eye can see and reach Montepulciano, a medieval town of rare beauty famous for its historic wineries, elegant Renaissance palaces and splendid piazzas that often open onto breathtaking views. At the end of the free tour, we pick up our cars and head for Asciano. The rolling hills dotted with rows of cypress trees soon give way to a more rugged landscape with scenic gullies and ancient clay erosions: the Crete Senesi. Driving along these roads is a real treat for the eyes. Return to Tenuta d'Arbia in the late afternoon.
