Ferrari tour in the landscapes of Tuscany

Chiantishire: strolling through ancient villages and wineries - About 140 km, full day

Departure in the morning from Piazzale Michelangelo or your hotel. After a briefing on the day's stops, we get behind the wheel of our cars and drive through the rolling hills surrounding Florence. On a scenic road, we arrive in Greve in Chianti, where we stop for coffee and a quick tour of the lively portico-lined piazza. We return to our cars and drive along an extremely scenic road where we can admire the typical elements of the Chianti landscape: vineyards and olive groves alternating with the ubiquitous cypresses. Passing Montefioralle, an ancient medieval fortress, we head towards Badia a Passignano, an ancient monastic complex beautifully nestled among the Chianti hills.

Continuing south through an exhilarating alternation of vineyards, olive groves, castles and medieval villages, we enter the Chianti Senese area and reach Castellina in Chianti, where we stop for lunch at a local trattoria and a short free tour of the village. Don't miss the charming covered walkway, Via delle Volte, which runs through the village and offers spectacular views of the Chianti countryside. Back in the driver's seat, we pass Radda in Chianti, a typical medieval village, and head for Volpaia, a small fortified village surrounded by vineyards. Stop for a free tour of the historic center, a maze of narrow, winding streets among stone houses and artisan workshops. Its medieval walls, still intact, make it a charming and romantic place.

Continuing north on the legendary Chiantigiana road, immersed in one of the most scenic and fascinating landscapes in Italy, after a few kilometers you arrive in Panzano, which offers amazing panoramic views of the valley from which great wines come. After about half an hour of driving, we arrive at Villa Machiavelli, a small village dating back to the 1500s where the great Florentine writer lived. Here we visit the house museum where Niccolò Machiavelli wrote "The Prince" and the historic cellars, and then enjoy the relaxation of the Fienile area with a tasting of 4 local wines accompanied by a board of cold cuts, cheeses and bruschetta served by the oldest restaurant in Tuscany, l'Albergaccio. At the end of the visit, we resumed our route to return to Florence in the late afternoon.
