Ferrari tour in the landscapes of Tuscany

From Maremma to Val D'orcia – 200 km, full day

Departure in the morning from your hotel in Castiglione della Pescaia. After a briefing with the instructor, we get behind the wheel of our cars and head north along the green hills of the Tuscan Maremma, among centuries-old olive groves and small medieval villages, in an enchanted atmosphere out of time. At the height of Paganico we take the Strada Cipressino, which climbs the slopes of Mount Amiata, an ancient volcano now extinct and rich in rivers and springs.

After a little over an hour from our departure, we arrive in Castel del Piano, a majestic medieval village located at the foot of the mountain, surrounded by chestnut forests and one of the largest beech forests in Europe. Driving our cars, we take the road to Pienza, the Ideal City desired by Pope Pius II and designed by Rossellino with the guidance of humanist Leon Battista Alberti. These artists defined the harmonious and typically 15th-century appearance of Pienza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant and free tour of the village. 

After lunch we get back behind the wheel to drive to S. Quirico d'Orcia where you will admire one of the most iconic views in Tuscany, with the famous cypress trees of San Quirico arranged in a perfect geometry. We are in the world-famous Val d'Orcia, where man and nature have coexisted for centuries and created an extraordinary landscape with postcard views, evocative medieval atmospheres and genuine hospitality.  

We tackle the winding curves and gentle climbs in our Ferraris, stopping occasionally at the top of a hill to admire the scenery, and reach Montalcino, an enchanting, almost fairy-tale medieval village surrounded by mighty walls and dominated by an ancient castle. This is the birthplace of the celebrated Brunello di Montalcino, one of the world's most famous wines. Stop for a free tour of the village. Or, we reach Podere Le Ripi for a tour of the cellars and a tasting of the wines produced by the farm. At the end of the visit, we resumed our route to return to the hotel in Castiglione della Pescaia in the late afternoon.
